SOLD Loosely based on fragments of landscapes, 107 didn't come together for me until I added the gauze of pink in the top half of the painting. I don't care much for pink, and so I tend to avoid it. In this case, pink was needed to push back at the pale green and pick up the bold blues below. What is the painting about- why the 107? Count days, seconds, participants, leaves on a tree... it doesn't matter what we count. The counting matters, and is part of the anxious need to control or make sense of a situation. Counting soothes.
